Dentist Jobs in Mississippi
Diagnose and treat problems in teeth, gums, or other parts of the mouth. Dentists perform both functional and aesthetic procedures, including cavity fillings, bite alignments, and teeth whitenings. In order to properly identify the issue, they use hand-held tools like mirrors and probes as well as X-rays of teeth, gums, and jaws. Other common duties include repairing/removing cracked teeth, writing prescriptions, administering anesthetic before certain procedures, and educating patients on factors that influence dental health, such as flossing and fluoride.
Dentists usually have their own private practice or join a small group, although some have partners or work as associates under other dentists. On average, they work typical business hours. This is, however, highly variable.
