Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for conducting analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards. The technician will also support customer-facing technical inquiries, assist in product formulation, and contribute to the development of technical documentation. This is a dynamic position that blends hands-on laboratory work with customer interaction and product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Analytical Testing: Perform qualitative and quantitative testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to verify compliance with internal and regulatory quality standards.
  • Respond to Technical Inquiries: Address customer and internal technical questions via email and other communication channels with accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as a technical liaison, providing support and solutions to customer concerns related to product performance, formulation, and specifications.
  • Product Formulation: Develop and test finished product formulations that highlight the performance and versatility of the companys raw chemical ingredients.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and other supporting documents for all manufactured chemical products.
  • Support Technical Operations: Assist with entering Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), evaluating new chemical products for portfolio compatibility, and performing other routine technical tasks.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Industry Experience:12 years of experience in the cosmetic or personal care industry (internship experience is acceptable).
  • Formulation Knowledge: Ability to explain and execute the formulation process of raw materials in cosmetic applications from concept to completion.
  • Laboratory Expertise: Proficient in wet chemistry techniques, analytical chemistry, and general laboratory practices.
  • Quality Control Proficiency: Experience with quality control processes, including pH measurement, hydroxyl value testing, and SAP data entry.
  • Technical Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and customer interaction.

Work Environment
  • Schedule: This position begins as a part-time role (MondayFriday, 9:00 AM 3:00 PM) with the potential to transition into a full-time role (MondayFriday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
