Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take dental X-rays with precision, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and explaining procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding. Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization and handling of contaminated materials. Collaborate with the dental teamincluding receptionists and hygieniststo streamline patient flow using dental terminology and coding for billing purposes. Qualifications Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or specialty dentistry setting, including pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental terminology essential for safe practice. Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, Etc. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and documentation.
