We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team on Wednesdays and Fridays ( either both days or individual days) as well as other per diem opportunities . The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and infection control protocols. As a vital member of our practice, the Registered Dental Hygienist will provide preventive oral health services, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and support overall patient well-being in a professional and compassionate manner. Our practice is respected in our community for our patient centered care and conservative dentistry. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary choices, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term oral health. Assist in dental procedures through chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments such as restorations or periodontal therapy. Maintain accurate and detailed medical histories and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Utilize dental software systems (Dentrix ) for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes. Implement infection control standards using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized techniques suitable for children and adolescents. Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to assess patient health status prior to treatment. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care in general dentistry settings. Skills Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Dentrix). Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and procedures tailored for children. Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during clinical procedures. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately, including vital signs measurement and medical history review. Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques within a dental setting. Familiarity with dental coding and documentation review for billing accuracy and compliance. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Previous experience in dental office or clinic environments demonstrating adaptability and professionalism.
