Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to increase efficiency and comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe clinical environment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record management. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment with compassion and professionalism. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, dental assisting procedures, and maintaining aseptic environments.
