Position Description:
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine is seeking a board eligible/board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for a full-time Instructor position. The position will be a joint recruitment by the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and by the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The successful applicant should have experience in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Candidates will have the opportunity to pursue both existing and new areas of research in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Responsibilities include provision of surgical patient care as well as instruction and supervision of dental students and surgery residents. Participation in clinical and/or basic science research in topics related to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is expected. Applicants must have an M.D. and a D.M.D / D.D.S. or equivalent degree. They must also be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. A current unrestricted M.D. and D.M.D. / D.D.S. license to practice medicine / dentistry in a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia is required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and proficient in spoken and written English.
