International Location: Bermuda
We’re seeking a locum Certified Dental Assistant II to provide coverage from September -November 2025. You who will provide the office with an efficient and pleasant patient experience. Dental Assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.
What Will You Do
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Readies patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
- Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed.
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry.
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed.
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with note taking.
What You’ll Need
- Must be willing to relocate to Bermuda
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Certified or Registered Dental Assistant
- Level II Certification and skills
- Enthusiastic attitude to working within a small team
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Currently licensed in United States, Canada or UK
- Valid Passport
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like bonding Invisalign attachments and intra-oral scanning
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma; graduating from an accredited Dental Assistant school with a level II certification is required
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. HARP)
