Get behind the scenes and learn about what it takes to make live events possible. If that resonates, and you’re someone with integrity, commitment, and a strong drive to deliver great products, we’d love to hear from you.
Job Overview:
Ross Video’s Switchers team is seeking a seasoned broadcast professional to join our Product Verification (PV) group. This is not a traditional software or UI testing role — it is a hardware-oriented, broadcast switcher testing position that requires deep familiarity with live production workflows and switcher operation. As a Product Verification Specialist, you will be a key contributor to ensuring the quality and reliability of our Carbonite product line and other Ross switching solutions. You will take ownership of critical hands-on testing activities — including, but not limited to, Ultrix router testing, signal path verification, panel behavior validation, and system stability evaluation under real-world conditions. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong broadcast background, particularly those with hands-on experience operating switchers in live environments. Your insight into control workflows, routing, and panel behavior will directly shape the quality of our next-generation production systems.
Who you report to: Production Verification Manager
What we offer:
Ross offers competitive salaries, comprehensive health plans, and several perks to help you perform at your best. Some of these perks include flexible hours, generous paid time off, fitness/wellness allowance, an employee share ownership program, development support, and a ton of fun social activities and events! Best of all, you will be part of the Ross Video family, and we've got an energizing environment here.
What the job is all about:
- Perform hands-on product verification of broadcast switchers and related systems in realistic studio-like environments.
- Own test case design, execution, and result validation for switching operations, router integrations, devices, (including Ultrix), and panel behavior.
- Execute both exploratory and structured tests based on functional specs and your professional broadcast experience.
- Work closely with development, product management, and QA teams to identify and isolate system-level issues.
- Provide clear documentation of test plans, issues, results, and coverage.
- Assist in the development of new testing strategies for evolving system configurations.
- Provide feedback on UI workflows, panel ergonomics, routing scenarios, and operator behavior expectations.
- Advocate for real-world use cases and represent the voice of the broadcast operator within the R&D process.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Who you are:
- Strong background in broadcast operations, with hands-on switcher experience in live or studio environments.
- Proven expertise using production switchers, control panels, and routing systems.
- Working familiarity with Ross Carbonite switchers is a major advantage.
- Familiarity with signal routing workflows and routers such as Ultrix.
- Excellent troubleshooting and observational skills.
- Experience in documenting test results and reporting product behavior.
- Comfortable working with engineers, product teams, and other testers to communicate issues and product feedback.
- Detail-oriented with an operator’s mindset and a passion for reliability and consistency.
- Self-motivated and capable of independently managing verification tasks.
Bonus points if you have the following:
- Former vision mixers, Technical Directors (TDs), or broadcast professionals with practical studio control room experience are very strongly encouraged to apply.
- Experience with Ross Video products, particularly Carbonite, TouchDrive, and Ultrix.
- Familiarity with routers, signal chains, and control system integrations in real-time production settings.
- Understanding of live production environments, including stress conditions, timing, and failover behavior.
