Must be comfortable and competent with taking impressions / fitting bands, taking photos, radiographs, performing sterilization duties, performing lab duties, willing to learn new orthodontic procedures, self-motivated with attention to detail, and be cross-trained in other important roles in the practice including scheduling, marketing, answering phones etc. When not attending to patients, the ideal candidate would be interested in working in the in-house lab making retainers, aligners, and other appliances.
Training will be provided to the right person with eagerness to learn and who is interested in a long-term rewarding career.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the following:
- Chairside orthodontic assisting
- Preparation of teeth for bonding of brackets
- Seating and removal of bands / appliances
- Removal and placement of wires
- Placing separators
- Placing ligature / lace ties
- Instrument sterilization
- Taking orthodontic records: X-rays, photos, impressions, intra-oral scans
- Knowledge/use of 3-D scanner a plus
- Pour up models
- Fabricate essix retainers
- Various other duties will be shared by team members (as needed)
- Provide a comfortable and exceptional patient experience
Qualifications
You will be required to possess the following:
- Current dental radiography license
- Hep B series / vaccination
- Basic knowledge of dental / orthodontic terminology
- 1+ year(s) of orthodontic / dental experience
- This is a 28-30 hour per week (Monday, Wednesday, and alternating Tuesday and Thursday) (6:50 am to 4:30 pm) clinical position initially with potential increase in days/responsibilities
