Experienced and enthusiastic dental team seeks general dentist for vibrant public health practice. A wide variety of services are performed including restorations, basic and surgical extractions, crowns, partials, dentures, pulpotomies, root canals, stainless steel crowns, etc.
We use Dentrix Enterprise software, electronic medical records, and digital x-rays. We have 2 up to date physical locations.
We have a fairly low BA rate usually around 15%.
We are located about an hour west of Winston Salem, 45 minutes east of Boone, and an hour and a half northwest of Charlotte in the foothills of North Carolina. There are numerous outdoor activities in the area. These include skiing, hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing, hunting, mountain climbing, horseback riding, camping, etc. Festivals, various markets, and special events are held throughout the year. It is a wonderful community for family with great schools including a community college and several close universities. The county offers a safe, friendly environment with a low cost of living.
The dental clinic is one of the leaders in the state for expanding services to the community. It was founded in 2000 and in 2001 received a private donation to purchase a mobile dental clinic to serve the schools. The fixed site provides services Monday through Friday. It serves Wilkes County and the surrounding counties because of the limited amount of dental services provided to the low income children and adults in this part of the state. It has a comprehensive mobile dental programs which just recieved a new facility in 2014 that provides a full score of treatment to the schools, rural health centers, nursing and assisted living centers, as well as, hosting dental health educational activities.
The staff regularly participates in dental educational activites, community partnerships, and continuing education to stay current and involved in impacting dentistry on a local, regional, and state level.
The position provides a base salary with additional compensation based on production. The total of the two is up to 30% of the production. A benefit package is offered including medical insurance, retirement, paid days off, and continuing education. State loan repayment is offered through the North Carolina Office of Rural Health.
