Job Description

We are an upbeat, busy, full service Dental Office with an immediate opening for a full time Dental Hygienist - RESTORATIVE EXPERIENCE A PLUS +.  Candidate must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.  We offer a friendly and caring work atmosphere, competitive pay and benefits.

The ideal Dental Hygienist candidate will be able to perform the following essential functions:

  • Review and update patient's health history, and chart progress, treatments and home care compliance,
  • Clean calculus deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums, using dental instruments, including scaling and root planing for patients with periodontal disease,
  • Apply flourides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay,
  • Assess and evaluate patient through exam, patient records, and patient's medical history to assist in diagnosis of dental hygiene problems, disease and efficacy of administered treatment plans,
  • Complete scheduled treatments,
  • Recognize early signs of periodontal disease, chart restorations and notate areas of concern,
  • Develop and present treatment plans,
  • Capture digital, panoramic and 3D x-rays and organize for doctor to view, and be capable of interpreting x-rays independently,
  • Perform head and neck/oral cancer exams,
  • Examine gums, using probes, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease, communicate findings to patient and doctor,
  • Educate and motivate patients on proper oral hygiene and corrective/preventative measures,
  • Give anesthesia as hygiene treatment dictates and other clinical procedures as directed by the doctor,
  • Place high quality dental restorations,
  • experience with orthodontics, such as Invisalign and 6 Month Smiles, a plus!,
  • possess strong computer skills,
  • use and maintain hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards,
  • perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed,
  • maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance,
  • work well both independently and cooperatively in team settings,
  • demonstrate common sense and the ability to think on your feet,
  • must be able to represent the practice in a professional, pleasant and cooperative manner,
