Position Title: General Dentist
Position Classification: Hourly / Non-Exempt
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Work Schedule: 32 hours per week (occasional overtime may be required)

The role of General Dentist serves as a vital partner in advancing our mission to provide accessible, high-quality dental care to the diverse communities we serve. Clinical expertise, cultural sensitivity, and patient advocacy are central to reducing health disparities and promoting long-term wellness. By delivering compassionate treatment, educating patients on preventive practices, and collaborating closely with team members, this role helps build a healthier community and ensure that every patient receives dignified, comprehensive care.
Qualifications:
· DDS, DMD or DD degree from an accredited dental school.
· Current and unrestricted license to practice dentistry, required by start date.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
· Cultural competence and responsiveness to a wide range of diverse communities.
· Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
· Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Primary Responsibilities
· Patient Care:
o Perform comprehensive dental examinations, diagnose oral diseases and conditions.
o Provide preventive care, routine cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, and limited root canal treatments.
· Patient Education:
o Educate patients (and parents/guardians when applicable) on proper oral hygiene, treatment options, and preventive dental care practices.
o Provide clear instructions for post-treatment care and answer patient questions regarding oral health.
· Treatment Planning:
o Develop and communicate individualized treatment plans.
o Collaborate with other dental and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
· Medication and Recordkeeping:
o Prescribe medications when appropriate and document all prescriptions accurately.
o Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and consultations.
· Regulatory Compliance:
o Adhere to infection control protocols, HIPAA regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational policies.
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to sit, stand, and work for extended periods.
o Manual dexterity and strength sufficient to operate dental instruments and equipment.
o Occasional lifting of supplies and small equipment may be required.
