This position is for a permanent part time chairside dental assistant for 20 to 28 hours per week. Normal workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, however for various reasons there might be an occasional change in days due to vacation time or holidays. (Work a Monday or Friday rather than a Thursday or Tuesday?although this happens very infrequently). The variation in hours is due to the economic climate, as we have seen both busy and not so busy times in the last year and a half. We arrive at 6:30 to set up for patients, have a morning huddle at 6:45 and begin seeing patients at 7:00 AM. We take one hour for lunch and end the day between 5:00 and 6:00 depending upon the schedule. We are desiring an enthusiastic, positive, professional person who likes to be part of a small team. Because this is a sole assistant office, you need to have high energy and the ability to multi-task, excellent communication skills (with patients and co-workers), and be detail minded. It is very important to be on time, dependable, reliable and to have a good attitude about the work you do and the environment within which you work. Medical health insurance is not available for this position as our insurance carrier requires at least 30 hours of consistent work per week to be covered. Dental benefits are provided, as well as vacation and other benefits.
