Site Access

The information you provide during registration will be used to match you with job opportunities. The two key elements we use are the type of job you are looking for and the location you are searching in. We also give you the opportunity to add your resume and make it searchable to our registered employers so that hiring managers can find you.

In addition to having access to our site, you will start receiving job opportunities by email based on the information you provide during registration.

Your username is an email address. If you need help remembering the email address you registered with, please contact our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
Often our members opt to close their accounts due to an issue that can be resolved in other ways. Before closing your account, we want to help you solve the problem(s) you may have first.

If you are closing your account because...

-You are having trouble ending your paid membership, jump to the Membership section to learn how to cancel your Premium Membership.
-You are frustrated with receiving irrelevant job matches by email, jump to the Emails from iHire section to learn how to change the jobs iHire is emailing to you.
-You want to stop receiving email from iHire completely, jump to the Emails from iHire section to learn how to stop emails from iHire. You can opt out of email without terminating your access to the site.

Closing Your iHire Account

We’re sorry to see you go, but if you’ve chosen to close your account we’ll show you how:

-If you are a Basic member, you can find the link to close your free account in the Membership section of your profile.
-If you have cancelled your Premium Membership and there is still time remaining on that paid membership, you will need to contact our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST to close your free account.

To sign in to our site, look for the Sign In button at the top of any page. If you do not remember your password, please visit Forgot My Password. If you have forgotten your password, you can either request a password reset email directly from the login page of our site or contact our customer service team for help resetting your password at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.

Please note, your iHire password is case sensitive. Make sure your caps lock is off.

Account and Profile

Your email address can be changed by typing in an updated email address in the Accounts section of the Profile tab and save.

If you’re having trouble changing your email address, please contact our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
Log in to your iHire account and click on the "Profile" tab then click on the "Account" link, on the right. Click "Edit" to enter your new address information and click “Save.”
Log in to your iHire account and click on the "Dashboard" tab. There are two sections that you can change, the job titles and the location of your search. Click on the city and state to change the location.

Memberships

As a basic member, you can enjoy the following benefits absolutely free:

If you’ve never been a Premium Member, you can try us for 7 days for just $1. If you’re happy with your membership and wish to continue after your 7-day trial, you will remain enrolled as a Premium Member and your access will continue uninterrupted. If our Premium Membership isn’t a good fit, simply cancel within your trial period and you will not be charged the full non-trial amount.
As a premium member, you can enjoy the following benefits for a fee:

-Resume Guidance: A video critique of your resume offering professional advice on content, layout, and grammar.
-Extra Attention: You will be highlighted in our employers’ resume searches and application lists.

We take the “search” out of your job search by maintaining a robust online engine that visits more than 12,000 websites a day so you don’t have to. Each day our engine discovers new job opportunities by searching company websites, government databases, specialty publications, online classifieds, association websites, and more. As a premium member, you can access all of these jobs in one place, and for this service, we do charge a fee.

You can cancel your Premium Membership on the website or over the phone.

Membership Section of Profile:

Visit the membership section of your profile, choose the option to cancel your premium membership, then follow the step-by-step prompts of the cancellation process.

You will see a confirmation message on the website as well as receive confirmation by email that your premium membership has been cancelled.

Contact Form:

There is a link to our contact form in both the header and footer of our site. You will find the link listed under Help at the top of the page in the site header or listed under iHire at the bottom of the page in the footer. Please be sure to include your first and last name as well as the email address you use to log in to the site with your request for cancellation.

Cancellations are generally processed very quickly, but please allow our team up to 24 business hours to process your cancellation. You will receive confirmation by email as soon as your premium membership has been cancelled. You can also visit the membership section of your profile to verify if your request has been processed. Your membership will show no future bill date if your cancellation has been processed.

You will receive confirmation by email that your premium membership has been cancelled. You can also visit the membership section of your profile to verify if your request has been processed. Your membership will show no future bill date as soon as the customer service team member has processed your cancellation.
iHire offers professional resume writing packages from entry to executive level. iHire writers are CARW (Certified Advanced Resume Writers).

Emails from iHire

If the jobs we are emailing you are not what you are looking for, you may need to change the job search criteria you previously provided. Visit your profile and make any necessary changes to the job title(s), job skill(s), and job search location preferences.

Please allow at least 24 hours for the changes you make to impact your emails.

If for any reason you have stopped receiving emails from iHire and would like to start receiving them again, please call our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
Whenever you see the “Email” button next to a job, you have the ability to email that job to yourself or to a friend. An email will be sent containing a link to that job.
If you would like to stop receiving all emails from iHire, select “Opt out here” at the top or bottom of any iHire email. If you change your mind later, you can opt back in to iHire emails by contacting our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
Your email address can be changed by typing in an updated email address in the Accounts section of the Profile tab and save.

Your Resume

You can add a resume to your iHire profile by going to the My Resume page and uploading your resume or by copying and pasting or typing your resume into the text box provided.

After adding your resume to our site you will be asked if you want that resume to be searchable to employers in the iHire Network. See Resume Privacy Options for more information on who can see a resume you’ve added to your iHire profile.

If our site is not accepting your resume, please review see the list of error messages below to find out what step(s) you can take to get your resume successfully added to our site:

- “Please select a resume to upload.” - This means you have not selected a file from your computer to upload. Please select your resume file and try again?

- “Please paste your resume in the field above.” - This means there is no text present. Please copy and paste or type your resume in the provided text box.

- “File size can not exceed 500KB.” - The resume file you are uploading is too large. Please upload a smaller file or call our customer service team for assistance at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.

- “Invalid file type. Please select a valid resume to upload.” - Your resume file must be in (rtf, txt, htm, html, pdf, doc, or docx) form. If you need help converting your resume into one of these accepted file types, please call our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.

- “Our server is having issues processing the resume; please try again later. Sorry for the inconvenience.” - This means that our resume processing server is not working properly and we are currently trying to fix it. Check back frequently to see if for the issue has been resolved.

- “Your resume seems to be invalid.” - Our resume server is having trouble identifying this document or text as a resume. Try uploading another file or choose the option to have your resume sent to our customer service team for manual approval.

To edit or replace an existing resume, go to the My Resume page.

If you originally uploaded your resume to our site, you will need to make any changes to the original resume itself and save an updated version in your files. Once you have updated your resume, choose Replace to overwrite your existing iHire resume with the updated version.

If you originally added your resume to our site by typing or copying and pasting, click the Edit button (Pencil Icon) next to your resume to bring up the onsite editor.

To delete your resume from iHire, go to the My Resume page and click the Delete button (Trashcan Icon).

If your resume is searchable on iHire, it can show up in resume search results performed by our registered employers. If you choose to keep your resume private, it is only viewable by you and any employer you have submitted an application to.

iHire’s employer database includes those who know exactly what they are looking for in a prospective hire and search our resume database as well as those who prefer to post positions and wait for applications. By submitting applications to posted positions and setting your resume to searchable, you will increase your visibility to employers.

To view and/or change to your resume privacy status, go to the Resume Completeness area of your dashboard OR go directly to your resume settings on the My Resume page.

Resume Writing Services

Review the following information to identify which service level would be appropriate for your needs:

Entry Level:
- Students, recent college graduates, or those with less than two years of professional experience.
- Contributes to company teams, projects, systems, or programs.
- Target salaries ranging from $20,000 to $35,000 annually.

Professional Level:
- 2-20+ years of experience.
- May have supervisory or team leader experience.
- May manage projects, systems, or programs.
- May manage budgets and/or schedules.
- Target salaries ranging from $20,000 to $120,000 annually.

Executive Level:
- 10-30+ years of experience.
- Oversees mid-level management and multiple departments. May manage multiple facilities. May manage national or global operations.
- Manages budgets and has P&L accountability.
- Target salaries ranging from $150,000 to $900,000+ annually.

Once you have purchased a professionally written resume from iHire, your work is not completely done. Further information will be required from you in order to craft an eye-catching document that accurately covers the knowledge, skills, abilities, and accomplishments that you bring to the table. The resume writing process usually follows a few steps to reach a finished document:

- As soon as the transaction has been completed for your purchase, an automated order confirmation email is sent which includes a link to download our resume questionnaire. It is imperative that you complete this form as thoroughly as possible. Even if you think all of the questions have already been answered by your existing resume, keep in mind the reason you chose to purchase a professionally written resume in the first place: your current resume hasn’t been working for you. The more information the writers have at their disposal, the better resume they will be able to produce for you.

Once you have purchased the resume refresh service, you will receive a section of the questionnaire to complete with information about your new position. After your questionnaire has been returned, your writer will contact you if any additional details are required.
If you are happy with the content of your resume but notice that the document becomes misaligned when uploaded to most sites, this service is for you. The Certified Advanced Resume Writers that work for iHire are experts in the best practices of formatting MS Word documents. iHire’s team of Resume Writers will eliminate formatting errors to increase your document’s chances of maintaining its proper format once it’s been uploaded to job boards and employer websites. When you purchase the cover letter rewrite service, iHire’s Certified Advanced Resume Writers will draft the companion piece to your resume. If you purchase this service apart from the resume writing service, your writer will send you a short questionnaire to fill out prior to completing the first draft of your cover letter. This short form provides your writer with additional details not normally found in a resume regarding your goals and objectives. Once your completed questionnaire has been received, iHire’s team of Resume Writers will:

- Create a concise and dynamic cover letter that compels employers to read your resume.
- Utilize exciting and professional language that highlights your qualifications and key achievements.

A resume critique is a review of your resume by our team of Resume Analysts who will point out areas you need to improve upon in an easy to follow video format. The resume critique is free with any premium membership or premium membership trial. When your critique is ready to be viewed, you will receive an email with a link to your resume critique on the “Resume Critique” tab.

You can submit your resume for a critique by selecting the “Get a Free Resume Critique” link on your dashboard and following the steps from there. If you visit the “My Resume” tab, you’ll also be able to submit your resume for a free critique; however, you must have a resume on file and be a current premium member or have a premium membership trial.

Searching for Jobs

The elements of your search:

Title - Run search based on predefined job titles/categories.
Keyword - Run search with targeted search terms.
Location - Run title or keyword search for a specific a zip code, city/state, or state. Leave blank for nationwide results.
Distance - Limit or expand search results based on distance from a specified location.
Filters - Tailor job results based on posted date, experience level, company, and skills, etc.
Sort By - Choose the order of job search results.

Some jobs in your search results may appear differently from others.
There are a number of products available to our registered employers including the featuring, highlighting, and sponsoring of their jobs in search results.
To save a search, please visit the Search Jobs page. Create the search you would like to keep and click “Save This Search” on the left of the page above the search filters.

You can:
- Save up to five searches.
- Customize the names of your saved searches.
- Include job title/category, keyword(s), location, distance, and filters in your saved searches.

To run a previously saved search:

- Select the arrow next to “Save This Search” to drop down the list of custom searches you have saved on the Search Jobs page.

- Choose from your list of saved searches displayed on the bottom of your dashboard.

If you’re having trouble accessing saved search(es), please contact our customer service team at 866-238-0161, Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
You are currently unable to edit a previously saved search. You will need to run the search you would like to edit, make changes to the search, and then save the revised search. If you already have five searches saved, you will need to delete a search before you are able to save a new one.
You may decide to delete a saved search if your job search changes or you need to create room for another job search that has taken priority. There are two ways to delete a previously saved search:

- Click the trash can icon next to each saved search at the bottom of your dashboard. Confirm whether you want to delete the saved search.

- You will also see the trash can icon next to each saved search in the drop down saved search list on the Search Jobs page. Click the trash can icon to delete the saved search.

Applying to Jobs

You will encounter a variety of application processes for jobs listed on our site. Some employers allow job seekers to apply directly through our site, while others prefer job seekers be directed back to their own site to fill out an application.

- For jobs that you apply to via our site, employers will receive your resume, cover letter, and answers to application questions via email once you complete the process.

- If you are taken to another site to apply, you will need to follow the process(es) defined on that site. If you find an issue applying to one of these jobs, please help us maintain job quality on our site by using the Report a Job feature to bring the job to our attention.

Reporting a Job

iHire strives to provide the best quality jobs, which is why we want you to communicate with us directly through the Report a Job feature on any job that you feel isn't up to iHire standards. By reporting a job to us, we can act quickly to resolve the problem, ensure your search can continue successfully.

The iHire job network serves jobs located in the U.S. Feel free to register, search, and apply to all jobs. Individual employers decide how to handle international job seekers who apply for their jobs.
